The flu bug apparently has hit Clippers forward Corey Maggette hard. The Clippers left Thursday afternoon on their team charter to begin a seven-game, 12-day road trip. However, Maggette was left behind.

It was announced that if Maggette was feeling any better, he would take a commerical flight and join the team in Minneapolis. The Clippers will open their longest road trip of the season Friday night at Target Center, against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Maggette has missed the past two games due to the flu. He was stricken a day after he scored a season-high 35 points in the Clippers’ loss last Saturday at Memphis.

Teammate Chris Kaman, who also missed the previous game with the flu, had improved enough that he was on Thursday’s team charter. However, Kaman is listed as questionable for Friday’s game.
