LOS ANGELES - In one of the most refreshing sights in what otherwise has been a dismal season, Clippers star forward Elton Brand participated in a no-restraints, half-court scrimmage session Tuesday.
The 30-minute workout came three days shy of a full seven months since Brand had surgery to repair a ruptured left Achilles’ tendon. He sustained the injury during a voluntary off-season workout.
Since training camp last October, Brand has undertaken a rigorouos rehabilitation program. Prior to Tuesday’s session, Brand only recently had been cleared to participate in team-related basketball activities that consisted of limited full-court, non-contact drills.
“It’s good to see him back,” teammate Corey Maggette said. “I know tha everyone in the organization is eager to get him back on the court playing and contributing to the team.”
